The American Ambassador’s house is part of the American Embassy designed in the 1960’s. The house has clean lines and a double-height wide verandah all around which provides framework for the gardens, which were redesigned in 1993 in a formal style. The banquet garden has a large grassed area with wide peripheral paving. The upper garden, which contains the swimming pool, breaks away from the orthogonal forms with curves and informal planting.
