Highlights
This luxury hotel is located in the area of Delhi International Airport Authority Ltd., along with twelve other hotels. It has more than 500 rooms with a large banqueting area. The premises also have a commercial block on the north-east corner. The brief was to create a contemporary and luxurious feel for the exterior, befitting the JW Marriott Brand. The first landscape concept was done by PLA, Bangkok.
The core of this hotel is a courtyard of over 1000 sqm. with most of the public areas opening on to it. This is designed as an oasis with a large water feature with three wooden cabanas over it as an extension of the lobby bar.
The main restaurant, with three different cuisines, also has an alfresco dinning space shadowed by large palm trees. Water elements, along with decorative stone panels, are used for both hotel and commercial entry area. The swimming pool is on the second floor terrace, with a large deck, drinks pavilion and private sitting decks outside the rooms, separated with tall hedges. The pool deck is also divided into two spaces, one with the pool bar and the other, adjacent to the pool, for loungers. The executive terrace deck is raised from the inside by almost 1-2 m and this height is used to create a waterfall, seen from the inside.
